Taten has seen to much!! (NOT FOR THE FAINT of Heart)

Sorry Mom, I had to post this. I just couldn't resist, although inappropriate for all readers its just to funny to pass up. Its my time of the month, I prefer to go to the bathroom by myself but as most mothers know that is not always possible. I was putting on my makeup this morning and turned to see that Taten had dug in the trash can and retrieved my tampon applicator, removed the applicator from its wrapper and was holding the applicator between his legs. You can imagine my shock and embarrassment as I realized how much he really sees and copies everything I do. I was thoroughly discussed and washed Taten's hands carefully. I couldn't resist taking a picture, this will be a story he hopes I don't tell his dates when he gets older.

Time to take out the trash

Taten loves to go outside, as a daily ritual when Dave gets home from work, Taten runs to meet him. Then they walk to the end of the cult a sac to get the mail and/or trash can. Today I asked Taten if he wanted to help take out the trash. I pulled the garbage bag from the laundry room, tied the top and set it down. Then took the kitchen garbage to empty the trash in the bathrooms. Next thing I know Taten is following after me with the other trash bag. I had asked him to help. I am still so surprised how much he understands.

Just a little help around the house.

I had just mopped and cleaned the kitchen (that is usually the way it happens right. . . not. . .Oh well I needed to mop the floor today) Taten loves to do things for himself and I can only imagine what he was thinking when he found a box of soy milk in the laundry room. In only seconds (the time it took for me to walk to my bedroom and open the window and back) Taten managed not only to open but rip off the pour spout on the soy box and dump the entire contents on the floor. He soaked one of his favorite books and proceeded to splash the milk on to every surface. I am sure thankful for my steam mop.

Sometimes it just easier to help yourself.

Taten amazes me...although he still doesn't speak much he is learning how to help himself at home. He knows where his treats are and as you can see can get himself a drink. Although he prefers to just fill his cup and dump it on the floor.

Happy New Year! Insight Bowl and block party

New Years is one of those holiday we really miss sharing with our families. Dave's parents throw a New Years party every year and we always miss being there. Since we have moved to AZ we have enjoyed going to the Fiesta Bowl Block party in Tempe. We are so glad that our friends agreed to join us it made the evening so much more fun!

Taten's new set of wheels

Here is Taten Christmas morning, it took him a little while to warm up but he loves his little push along buggy. He spent almost the entire day sitting in his new car and playing with the set of keys he found in his stocking. Taten also loved the Terry's Orange he found in his stocking and he ate almost the whole thing before lunch time. Taten wants to say thank you to the Hagbergs for his BYU balls, he loves them. He also wants to let his grandparents know how much he enjoyed the gifts you sent/brought to him. Thank you.

The "Worst Christmas Ever"

I really wanted a bike for Christmas this year... but money was a little tight and I told Dave I could wait. But he insisted that we go from sports shop to sports shop to find a bike that I liked and which store had the best prices. As Christmas approached I still hoped Dave would buy me a bike. The sneak that I am I kept checking the credit card statement and our bank account to see if Dave was going to surprise me. Christmas Eve rolled around and Dave explained that I could have a bike when we got our tax return. I admit I felt a little annoyed and couldn't believe Dave wouldn't really buy me a Christmas present. He left for a few minutes to help a friend move "something". We had a Christmas Eve party to go to and we still hadn't delivered treats to all our neighbors. I was outside doing this and thought I would just peak around the corner to see if Dave had stashed my bike. I heard a vehicle pull up and looked down our cultisac to make sure it wasn't Dave and I wouldn't get caught for sneaking. As I closed the gate to our back yard I turned in just enough time to see Dave rounding the corner with a lavender Diamondback Serene comfort bike with a fat seat and wide handle bars. The one I wanted. I heard Dave cuss as he rounded the corner and found me outside. He had really wanted to surprise me and had gone to great efforts to buy the bike without me seeing a change in our bank account. Christmas day was already ruined and we hadn't even gone to bed yet. Taten woke up grumpy Christmas morning and didn't get excited as we had hoped he would. Although he loved his new push along buggy and basketball hoop he had no desire to open any of his presents. Dave stated "this is the worst Christmas Ever!!!" Even though I had gotten up early to make a yummy breakfast and put in the turkey, and had carefully wrapped the stack of presents under the tree. Dave retired to the bedroom where he spent the day looking at the Ipod that he didn't get for Christmas and I put away our Christmas decorations. May I say that I will never ever snoop again it was not worth upsetting in the harmony in our home and the time that should have been spent thinking of our Savior. I dearly love my husband and am so thankful that he went to such great lengths to surprise me. So sorry that I ruined it.
