I have been trying to get my house ready to put on the market. There were a few places on the outside of the house that needed some touch up paint. I dipped my paint brush and walked out the front door (it was about 8:00am) I just needed to test the paint color to make sure it matched. I walked out the door, leaving Taten inside to watch TV. As soon as the door was closed I heard a click and turned around to see Taten smiling and looking out the window. I tested the door. I was locked out. I couldn't believe Taten had locked me out. (was he even tall enough to reach the lock?)I began ringing and knocking on the door. "Taten let mommy in, please unlock the door". Taten thought this was pretty funny. I knocked on my neighbors door for help. My 3 year old neighbor came over to see if he could get Taten to open up. Meanwhile I placed a call to my husband who works 30 minutes away. After about 20 minutes Taten unlocked the door and let me in. There was a small bucket by the door that Taten had to stand on in order to reach the lock. I immediately called Dave so he wouldn't have to come all the way home.Monday, May 11, 2009
Locked Out!

Home finding trip-Johnstown PA
If you haven't heard yet, Dave was offered and accepted a job (still with Pepsi) in Johnstown Pennsylvania. Here are a few pictures from our home-finding trip. We are standing at the top of one of the worlds steepest inclines. A perfect view of Johnstown. At the bottom of the hill you can drive your car into a trolley and you and your car are taken to the top of the hill.Johnstown is in a valley, and has had some really serious floods in the past. Most people of course choose to live on the hill tops so they don't drown in the next flood

We had only two days to look for a house. We must have looked at over 20 homes. We wanted a few things in our new home, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, updated kitchen and bathroom, and (Bonnie didn't want a ghost)......... seriously most homes are 50 to 100 years old. Unless you are oober rich and can afford to build a new one.
This is the house we made an offer on. We are still waiting to hear back. It was built in 1953. 4 small bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The home is pretty small and I joke with Dave that we wont be able to walk around our bed. But the house is cute, has been well maintained and has beautiful wood floors. Even though the bathrooms and kitchen must be from the 70's if not original to the home.

Taten's first Easter Egg Hunt*
Its true kids really do make every holiday so much more fun. I was excited this year to finally be able to have an Easter Egg hunt for Taten. 
We made plans to take Taten to the city Easter Egg Hunt but we woke to pouring rain. We put on warm clothes and grabbed an umbrella just in case the hunt was still on. Unfortunately it had been cancelled but Taten was happy with the small bag of candy he received when we arrived at the park. Sunday morning we had an Easter Egg Hunt of our own. 
Taten was so cute he found his Easter Basket sitting at the bedroom door and was excited about the toy he found inside. He then noticed a few colorful eggs dotting the hall way and was off to collect them. He collected two eggs, one for each hand (i could almost see the wheels turning in his head when he tried to hold three eggs-he only paused for a second before he reached for his basket and quickly found and collected the remaining eggs) I just loved watching him-he knew just what to do.
