Mr. Independent

Taten is Mr. Independent. He cracks me up sometimes how "grown up" he is. He usually starts the day telling me what he wants to do and giving me orders. I think I am doing a decent job keeping him entertained...you know...I let him play in the bath for an hour every morning till his fingers and toes are pruned, I run around in circles flying airplanes with him in his room. I take him to the store for a treat and to ride in the shopping cart shaped like a car. Then I sit him down in front of "his show" so I can have some mommy time to do what I want. This is usually the time of day that Taten is having Taten time and doing what he wants-not watching his show. Today he comes to me with an empty bag and tells me "Mom big mess" "Taten did you dump out the fruit loops?" Yeah mom. Big mess, come help" I come into our den and find the floor covered with fruit loops but Taten has also gotten out the vacuum, unraveled the cord and attempted to plug it in, clearly trying to clean up the mess on his own. I love this kid, he always wants to help. He often helps himself to his own snacks too. Today I found him with an orange and a knife on my leather sofa, he had cut the orange in half and was trying to dig out the segments with his fingers. Ahhh! Now if I could just get this kid potty trained I could send him off to college.
